| This is the first week of their journey from Invercargill, which is the southern-most city in New Zealand's south island, all the way to Auckland, located on the north island -- a month-long journey. All dates from March 1 are New Zealand time. They are 16 (their time changed) hours ahead PST. |
Friday, February 28 Mike and John arrive in Auckland from Los Angeles. They fly from Auckland to Invercargill to begin their trek. |
Saturday, March 1 Invercargill.

Monday, March 3 John decides to change route (again) and bypass the west coast and head for a more direct route from Queenstown to Christchurch. They bike to Manapouri.

Tuesday, March 4 Manapouri to Kingston.

Wednesday, March 5 Kingston to Queenstown. First internet connection. Mike and John were able to upload digital pictures and journal entries. |
Thursday, March 6 Queenstown to Wanaka. |
Friday, March 7 Wanaka to Haast. |

Saturday, March 8 Haast to Fox Glacier. |
Sunday, March 9 Fox Glacier to Franz Josef Glacier. |
Monday, March 10 Still in Franz Josef Glacier resting. |
Tuesday, March 11 Franz Josef Glacier to Ross. |
Wednesday, March 12 Ross to Greymouth. |
Thursday, March 13 Greymouth to Westport. |
Friday, March 14 Westport to Inangahua for John and Murchison for Mike. John is now in Nelson few hours north by car of Murchison. His bike was in need of repair. |
Saturday, March 15 Murchison to St. Arnaud. |

Sunday, March 16 St. Arnaud to Nelson. Mike joined John in Nelson. They are off to Picton. |
Monday, March 17 Nelson to Picton. Mike and John have completed the South Island. Now they conquer the North Island. |
Tuesday, March 18 Picton to Wellington. |
Wednesday, March 19 Wellington to Masterton. |
Thursday, March 20 Masterton to Pahiatua. |
Friday, March 21 Pahiatua to Waipukurau. |
Saturday, March 22 Waipukurau to Napier. |
Sunday, March 23 Napier to Tarawera. |

Monday, March 24 Tarawera to Taupo. |
Tuesday, March 25 Taupo to Rotorua. |
Wednesday, March 26 Resting in Rotorua. |

Saturday, March 29 Whangamata to Hahei. |

Tuesday, April 1 Auckland. Packing and preparing to return home. They depart Auckland today. |
Wednesday, April 2 Depart Auckland. |
