Kingston to Queenstown. Short ride into Queenstown. Dramatic rounded mountains rising straight out of the lake. For comparison, this brought back memories of the lake region in northern Italy. Although, the mountains here are covered with grass and bushes, rarely any trees. This gives them a beautiful mossy look from afar. Queenstown is definitely an unforgettable town situated in an unforgettable place. Attempting first Internet transfer in a few minutes (finally have worked out -- hopefully -- all the glitches). Evidently we have succeeded. More later (more often). Back after a bit of a pause -- still working out our technical problems.

Yes, it would be nice if everything went peachy-keen, but, on the other hand, working all this stuff out is part of our trip too. Also, a big apology to all those folks in Queenstown. A very unfortunate, and unforgettable, typo slipped through our rigorous thirteen step editing process. Anyway, as far as I can tell, Queenstown is a very hip and bustling little town. We sampled some incredible food during our short stay (a pleasant diversion from our usual staple of self-cooked fare). Queenstown also has several very cool coffee shops begging you to lounge away the afternoon getting buzzed on caffeine. A big hats off to the mountain bike scene -- seems like it is thriving, with at least a couple of really good shops. Finally, thanks to the guy (sorry, don't know your name) who trued my rear wheel even though he was going to be up all night working on machines for an upcoming race.
