Currently, I am a graphic designer for a research group in Denver. I also work periodically on freelance graphic design projects.

as an artist... Right now I am just finishing up a series of abstract paintings. But, primarily, I am a landscape photographer. Recent work has include low altitude aerial photography in various sites around Colorado. Currently, I am working on a macro series using succulents as the subject.

travel/bike... I began cycling seriously when I was in high school. I have never raced but have always been very interested in long distance riding and touring.

My most extensive cycle tour was a 12 month trip in 1986. After my freshman year in college, I trained for 3 months, then put my bike in a box and headed for Europe. For the first 6 months, I travelled with a buddy of mine from Kansas City. The last six months I spent either riding solo or riding with folks I met along the way. The route: England, Ireland, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Yugoslavia, Greece, Israel, Egypt, and Turkey.

In 1991, I headed back to the Mediterranean with my mountain bike. This time I spent 6 months on a kibbutz in the very southern tip of Israel -- working as a farmer and riding in the Negev Desert.

Since the Israel trip, I have been in Colorado. I try to ride at least 2-3 times a week. I guess I would describe myself as a dedicated recreational rider. Riding is definitely not all I do, but it certainly occupies a lot of my time. During the summer I ride extensively in the mountains -- sticking mostly to the trails. During the winter I retreat to the lowlands and my road bike, just concentrating on trying to keep my mileage up.
